After That Night
The end of winter. It was about 10:30 at night. The “City Express” was running fast along the railway line covered in thick fog. Mac, sitting by the window, was looking at the darkness outside. The train was running through a track surrounded by forests and mountains.
He had lost so much in his life that he felt completely alone. With the failure of his job, the breakdown of his relationship, and the pressure of his family, his life had come to a standstill. Most of the passengers inside the train were asleep. Only the occasional call of the tea vendor could be heard. Mac was sleepy. He was about to take out an old diary from his bag and write something, when he heard a terrible sound.
Suddenly, the entire train shook.
Screams, cries, and smoke filled the air. Several carriages of the train derailed and fell into the ditch next to them. The electricity went out, and there was complete darkness all around. People were running for their lives.
