The mystery of the Mountains

The name of the small town surrounded by mountains was Rupagiri. Although it was called a city, it was actually a quiet hill town. Green forests all around, winding roads, foggy mornings and cool air at night. Everyone knew everyone here. Crime was rare except for minor quarrels.

But one day, everything changed suddenly. Sudhangshu Babu, the old bookseller of the town, disappeared one afternoon on his way home after closing his shop. At first, everyone thought he might have gone somewhere. But even after nightfall, he did not return.

The police started searching. They searched everywhere, including the mountain roads, markets, and forests. But no trace was found.

Four days later, his body was found hidden in a bush outside the town. As soon as the news spread, panic descended on Rupagiri. Sudhangshu Babu had a look of fear on his face. There was no major injury on his body. Only a black mark on his neck. The doctor said that he had been strangled to death.
