many years ago there was a quiet village called Behag surrounded by green paddy fields on the banks of Yamuna river. The village was as beautiful as it was mysterious. At one end of the village there was a huge banyan tree several ages old. The tree was so large that its roots came down to the ground and took the form of another big tree. Even during the day, there was a strange darkness under the tree. The people of the village used to call that tree "ghostly banyan tree".
It was said that all kinds of ghosts lived in that tree. There were Shankchunni, Petni, Brahmadaitya, Nishi, Mamdo Bhoot, Aleya and countless invisible souls. Even if they were silent during the day, their true form was revealed when the night fell. After evening no one went to that tree. Because the people of the village knew that if someone accidentally falls under a tree, then a terrible violence will come down on him.
Once in a village Kathur, his name was Gadadhar, he was returning from the nearby forest cutting wood. That day there were dark clouds in the sky. Suddenly it started raining. Gadadhar ran and sat under the banyan tree in search of shelter. He had forgotten the prohibition of the elderly. As soon as we sat under the tree, the surrounding environment changed. The wind stopped. The call of the birds stopped. Suddenly the branches of the tree started to tremble.
