White Dragon
The quiet village surrounded by mountains on the banks of the Dedu River was called Linha. Many years ago, a terrible epidemic took away the happiness and peace of that village. Yong Qi was a young boy. His parents, uncles, and aunts—many of them—died in the epidemic. Only his grandfather, Senior Qi, and himself survived.
Grandfather raised him. During the day they used to go to the field work, and at night, grandfather would sit by the fire and tell various stories. The most mysterious was the story of the white dragon. Dadu used to say, "Daguma is a white dragon imprisoned deep in the mountains. He is not an ordinary dragon. He can speak like a human being, understands human sorrow. But a powerful magician has cursed him."
Year after year the story was etched in the mind of Young Chi. One night after grandfather's death, one night he was thinking about grandfather looking at the sky. Suddenly he remembered the white dragon. "If the story is true?" He said to himself. The next morning he left for Daguma Hill with a sword, some dry food and water containers. After a long journey, he finally reached the mountain. For three days, the mountain caves, forests, fountains were not found and no trace of the dragon was found.
He decided to return disappointed. But the game of luck was still left. While resting next to a dry fountain, he saw a cave on the mountain. A whirlwind of dust is coming out from inside the cave. Curious, he climbed up the mountain. When he reached the mouth of the cave, he saw something white moving deep into the cave. Young Chi dared to go inside.
And then a strange thing happened. As soon as he entered the cave, his old clothes disappeared. He was seen wearing a golden crafted royal dress. A jeweled sword hangs around the waist. He saw a little further. He is no longer in the cave. He is standing in the middle of a huge palace. Moni Manikya is sparkling the roof of the palace. A blue flame is burning on the wall. Many employees are bowing their heads at him.
A beautiful nurse came and said, "Welcome, lord. Everyone is waiting for you." Yong Chi said in surprise, "I am not a majesty. I am an ordinary farmer." The nurse just smiled softly and took her to an ornate room. The room had furniture made of silver, velvet beds and a shining sky outside the window. He couldn't sleep that night.
The next morning an old man opened the door and entered. She has a long white beard, blue dress and crystal poles in her hands. "Yong Chee," he said, "I am the chief adviser, Lorraine. We have been waiting for you for hundreds of years." "But why?" The old man sighed. “Because you are the chosen one.”
Then he told a wonderful story. A long time ago this kingdom was called Draconia. The keeper of the kingdom was the great white dragon lumeer. But a dark magician named Calder wanted to seize the power of the dragon to gain immortality. In a terrible battle, the magician Calder was defeated, but at the last moment he gave a curse. The dragon lumere is captured and the entire kingdom is hidden in another world. The prophecy was... "One day a young man will come from the banks of the Dedu River. In his heart will be the light of courage, kindness and the light of truth. He will be the liberator of the Dragon Lumere."
Young Chi realized that the young man was probably him. That night he was taken through a secret passage under the palace. The road ends in a huge cave. In the middle of the cave lies a huge white dragon tied to a silver chain. His eyes are as bright as the moon. The dragon slowly opened its eyes. "Finally you came, Young Chi." Young Chi said in surprise, “How did you know my name?” "I've been waiting for you for a long time." There was tenderness in the dragon's voice. He said, the Calder magician is still alive. His soul is hidden in the castle of shadows. As long as he is not destroyed, the curse will not be broken. Dragon Young gave Chee a silver scale. “It will protect you.”
The next day, Yong Chi set off for the Shadow Castle.
He was accompanied by the magical archer Meira, the dwarf warrior Baruk, and the sky fairy Elena.
The four of them crossed the Valley of Fire, the Forest of Ice, and the Desert of Death.
Finally, they reached the Shadow Castle. Inside the castle, countless monsters attacked them. A fierce battle began. Baruk fought off the monsters with his huge axe.
Meira's magic pierced the darkness. Elena created a storm of light. Finally, Yong Chi reached Calder. The magician's body was as black as smoke. His eyes were burning like fire.
"Are you the son of the prophecy?" Calder smiled.
"Today is your last day."
A fierce battle began. Calder threw a thunderbolt of darkness.
But the dragon's scales protected Yong Chi. Suddenly, he remembered his grandfather.
Grandfather used to say,
"True power lies not in the sword, but in the heart."
At that moment, his sword glowed with golden light. He gathered all his courage and jumped forward. With one blow, the sword pierced Calder's chest. The magician screamed and disappeared into smoke.
With that, the curse was broken. The kingdom of Draconia trembled. Light spread across the sky. The white dragon's chains broke. Lumiere was free. She flew into the sky and roared like thunder. The entire kingdom rejoiced in joy.
The king, queen, soldiers, and common people all honored Yong Chi as a hero. But Yong Chi did not agree to be king. He said,
“I am just a farmer’s grandson. My grandfather taught me to help people.”
The dragon Lumiere smiled.
“Your humility is what makes you great.”
At the time of parting, the dragon gave him a white pearl.
“Whenever you need help, raise it to the sky.”
Then Yong Chie returned to his village. But he was no longer the ordinary young man he had been.
He was a hero of two worlds.
Whenever a white line of light appeared in the night sky, the people of the village would know that
the white dragon Lumiere was still guarding his friend Yong Chie.
The End
